Friends of Mill Road Cemetery
, founded in 1999, aim to protect and enhance the Mill Road Cemetery, Cambridge for the public benefit as a place of remembrance, spirituality, history, and wildlife. Our object is to ensure continued public access to, and to increase awareness, appreciation and enjoyment of Mill Road Cemetery within the local community and wider city.
The Friends (FOMRC)
speak and act with the Parochial Burial Grounds Management Committee, Cambridge City Council and other organisations on behalf of all who care for Mill Road Cemetery. Regular meetings with them keep us all informed and involved, but ours has a separate identity to allow us a strong voice whenever needed. Friends of Mill Road Cemetery is a constituted Community Group run by a committee of some twelve or so members including a Chair, Treasurer and Secretary, who are elected at an Annual General Meeting There are various subcommittees such as the Wildlife committee, Communications Group and History Group.
During the year we hope to run several events including Bulb Planting Days, Clear ups and Guided Tours. Friends will be invited to all of these, and will also receive regular newsletters keeping you up to date with everything that’s going on. See past newsletters on What's On. Past events
The Cemetery is of course open to everyone for free, but becoming a Friend means you are helping us to look after this very special place. Your subscription:
